The photo exhibition “The Constitution of the Russian Federation as a guarantor of freedom of religion”, provided by the Muslim Spiritual Board of the Russian Federation, will be exhibited at the information display stand of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Malaysia from December 12, 2020 to January 5, 2021.
Islam is one of the traditional religions of the Russian Federation, which is the nation’s second most widely professed religion by a number of believers.
For many centuries, Muslims in Russia lived peacefully side by side with the representatives of Christianity, Buddhism and other religions that make up an integral part of the cultural and historical heritage of the peoples of Russia, played an active role in the state-building of the country and never stayed away during the times of fateful changes.
The photographs presented at the information display stand of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Malaysia are a part of the international project “Traditions of Islam in Russia”, which is planned to be presented to the Malaysian public soon.
Photo works about Islamic traditions in Russia, the daily life of Muslims, the architecture of the Russian mosques demonstrate the positive experience of the Russian people in establishing internal civil peace, building an interreligious and interethnic dialogue while each ethnic group preserves its historical and cultural identity.
The Constitution of the Russian Federation, acting as the guarantor of freedom of conscience and religion, builds a solid foundation for achieving mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect, which leads to peace, stability, and prosperity of the Russian society.
