Performance of the Russian dance ensemble “Yunost” in Malaysia

On the 22nd of September the Russian dance ensemble “Yunost” (from Novomosskovsk city) performed at the HELP College of Arts and Technology in Kuala Lumpur.
The group of young dancers from 14 to 20 years old, who has been invited to perform in Malaysia by the Representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo (The Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur0, prepared traditional Russian dances such as “Kalinka”, “Smolensk Gusachok”, “Barynya” as well as other traditional and modern compositions. Olga Petrova, the vocalist of the ensemble, performed few famous Russian favourite songs like “Moscow nights”, “Garmon moya” (“My button accordion”) and others.
The concert was attended by Malaysian public figures and Russian compatriots living in Malaysia, as well as the representatives of foreign missions, including the honorable guest – the Ambassador of Russia to Malaysia Valery N. Yermolov.
Enthusiastic reviews of the event have appeared in Malaysian press after the performance.
