Briefing on the Eastern Economic Forum 2018 in Vladivostok

On the 21st of September, Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur hosted an international forum for Malaysian state representatives, media and diplomats dedicated to the 4th Eastern Economic Forum which had taken place in the Russian city Vladivostok from the 11 to 13 September earlier this year. The event was organized by The Trade Representative Office of the Russian Federation in Malaysia together with the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo.
During official press conference, The Head of the Trade Representative S. V. Slizkov and A. A. Stepanov emphasized importance of the forum as a tool for building strong relations between Russia and East Asian countries. Other important issues were discussed during the forum such as bilateral activities and in particular the meeting of the President Vladimir Putin with the leaders of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and Mongolia. Furthermore, acquisition of new “business contacts” was one of the main discussions during the forum. The Trade Representative Office is looking forward to see Malaysia as an active participator in Eastern Economic Forum next year.
The conference was attended by the Ambassador Ismail Salam the Undersecretary for European Division of the Bilateral Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
