Violin and piano recital at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur

On the 4th of August, Russian Centre of Science and Culture held a classical music recital by Malaysian musicians: pianist Low Chyh Shen and violinist Wenyin Phoenix Deng.
Throughout many years RCSC has been working closely with ”Allegro Music & Arts Academy”, organizing together musical recitals and other performances of the lecturers, students and graduates from Allegro studio. Established in 1992, the premier music centre gained a trusted reputation for musical and artistic excellence in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Low Chyh Shen and Wenyin Phoenix Deng pursued their studies in the United States and both of them have a very impressive performing history and excellent reputation. Violinist Wenyin Phoenix Deng has performed with world-renowned musicians such as Yo-yo Ma, Augusta Reed Thomas, Ricardo Muti and played as a soloist musician with Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, DePaul Baroque Orchestra and Miami University Symphony Orchestra. The pianist Low Chyh Shen has also appeared as a soloist musician with the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra and Miami University Symphony Orchestra. At the moment, both musicians focus on their solo and group musical careers.
During the recital at the Russian Cultural Centre musicians have played different pieces by Russian composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, other famous foreign composers. The concert was attended by representatives of Russian missions abroad, expats living in Malaysia and Malaysian public. Everyone has truly enjoyed the recital and thanked musicians with long standing ovations. At the end of the event, a piece by Fritz Kreisler “Love’s Sorrow” was performed as an encore.
Classical music recitals have already become a tradition at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture that helps to introduce Russian composers to Malaysian public and promote Russian classical music.
